OUR PURPOSE

We opened Josephine Bakery & Marketplace in January 2020, as a way our community could join us in raising funds to improve the lives of vulnerable children by helping to provide nutrition, medical care, education, and safety. Unfortunately, the challenges of opening a new food business just before the Covid -19 pandemic proved too much, and we made the difficult choice to close the bakery in Nov. 2021.  Although we are a little bruised, we are not beaten, and remain committed to this purpose by expanding the marketplace portion of our business in Josephine Home, just a few doors down from the former bakery space.

For over a decade, our family has raised money, personally donated, coordinated volunteer efforts, and built a youth home in Croix des Bouquets, Haiti to help children in need. Josephine is an extension of our desire to help ease the burden on children living in poverty wherever we can. A portion of profits, as well as money raised from specific workshops and collaborations, are donated to child-focused nonprofits No Kid Hungry - Share Our Strength, working to eradicate childhood hunger in the U.S., and to Hac-Haiti  providing education, nutrition, opportunity and respect to children living in Croix des Bouquet, Haiti (outskirts of Port au Prince).

We hope you'll support this business so we can help care for children in need together!
